Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic surgery allows the surgeon the opportunity to perform your operation by way of small incisions. The benefits of this type of technique include; less pain, shorter hospital stay, quicker return to usual activities including work and a more cosmetic result.

Laparoscopic surgery or "keyhole surgery" has been routinely used in gallbladder and gynaecological surgery for many years. It plays an important role in exploration of the abdominal cavity in situations of unexplained symptoms such as abdominal pain.  Generally laparoscopic procedures can be performed in day surgery unit without the need to remain in hospital overnight.
