Most patients will take 24 hours to fully recover from the effects of the anaesthesia used during surgery.

  • You can resume light activities during this time, however, it is recommended your have someone assist you at home for at least the day after surgery.

Full recovery from bruising and swelling usually takes about 1 week. Healing times can vary from individual to individual.

Guidelines for a safe, quick recovery include;
  • Use cold ice packs on the eyelids for up to 3 days
  • Refrain from strenuous activity for at least 1 week after surgery
  • Take medication such as simple pain relief and antibiotics 
  • Avoid anti-inflamatory medications such as Nurofen
